BREEZE

Situated on a long, narrow lot in Venice Beach, the architecture of the new home was oriented to capture the ocean breeze. Unfolding as a series of airy spaces, large expanses of movable glass walls invite light and dissolve the boundary between in-and-outdoors. White walls, and concrete floors provide a quiet uniform backdrop while white oak warmly weaves throughout, interchanging between floors, walls and cabinetry.

Designed for casual entertaining and easy maintenance, the interiors are decidedly relaxed and uncluttered. Furnishings favor sculptural simplicity and resilient finishes—no pillow fluffing—so every surface reads as effortless and lived-in rather than fussy. A hidden jewel-box bar lined in cognac leather offers a compact, elegant spot for cocktails. The kitchen, also intentionally stealth, has streamlined storage and hidden appliances. With Southern California’s year-round climate in mind, outdoor lounging was equally considered to support effortless hospitality and comfort. The result is a home that feels calm and coastal, tuned to the particular lifestyle of the owner.
