OUR
STUDIO
Studio Aimee Less is a full service interior design studio based in Los Angeles. We work with residential and boutique commercial clients worldwide with services ranging from interior architecture and interior design to furniture design. Every project is led personally by Aimee — from the first conversation to the last detail.
APPROACH
At Studio Aimee Less we see interior design as both an art form and a lived experience. Every project is a new composition - color, materiality, proportion, and texture are layered with intention to create spaces that feel refined, personal, and expressive. The work is grounded in a modernist sensibility, warm and tactile, but never bound to a singular style. Each project finds its own character, shaped by the people who live or work within it.
Material, color, and form are used honestly — and often unexpectedly. Custom furniture, carefully sourced objects, and the considered curation of each space are central to how the studio works. Nothing is incidental. Everything is chosen.
This attention to detail extends beyond the aesthetic. How a space is planned, how it flows, how it supports the rhythms of daily life — these are design questions as much as visual ones. We think carefully about how people actually inhabit their environments: how they move through a room, where they gather, what they need a space to do. The result is work that is not only beautiful but genuinely livable.
Collaboration is taken seriously. We alway prefer to join a project early, when the planning decisions are still open and the possibilities are greatest. Working closely with clients, architects, and builders, we bring an interior architect's eye to the full scope of a project — not just the surfaces, but to the structure beneath them.
ABOUT AIMEE
Aimee Less was born and raised in Memphis, where an early passion for the creative arts set her on a path that has never followed a straight line. She studied sculpture at Camberwell College of Arts and Crafts in London, earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Syracuse University, and holds an Environmental Design degree from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. She has held artist residencies in Israel and Greece, and exhibited furniture at the Milan Furniture Fair's Salone Satellite and at ICFF in New York.
Before founding her private practice, Aimee spent more than a decade at RIOS as Director of Interior Design, leading projects across residential, hospitality, institutional, and commercial work — collaborating with architects, landscape architects, graphic designers, and consultants on projects of varied scale and complexity.
She has also worked as a fine artist, ceramicist, and web designer. These aren't footnotes — they inform everything. The eye she brings to an interior is not purely a designer's eye. It is an artist's. But it is also a planner's — precise, considered, and deeply attentive to the details that determine whether and how a space truly works.
