The design of this community center plays with the tension between the seriousness of the architecture — concrete, steel, glass, angular geometry — and the pure joy of color. Purples, reds, and oranges animate a custom mural, celebrating the form language of the building, and wraps the main corridor. The lobby and gym spill out to the pool deck where the same colorful palette lines up in rows of lounge furniture. Custom designed modular seating is scattered throughout, designed for flexibility — easily reconfigured to suit a quiet afternoon or a full community gathering. The building is cool and precise while the interiors and furnishings are warm and exuberant.
