After
much experimentation, we installed a network of parallel stakes
at the top of the ravine to create a structural system within
which we could freely work. The steel wire was installed in
rhythm with the stakes; however, the module of the newspaper
determined the ultimate spacing and interweaving of the wire.
Ultimately, as the steel wire stretched and aged, it grew to
be more organic. The newpaper modules, which had been machined
to create them, referenced the geometric structure of the bridge
above. |
