The
Bend light explores the current industry migration from older
lighting technologies to that of light-emitting diodes. With
its warm and ethereal glow, the bendable fixture demonstrates
the flexible properties of light. The lithe structure is made
of a stainless steel rod, satiny machined-smooth aluminum parts,
and a milk-white silicone tube embedded with LEDs. The thin steel
rod allows the fixture to gracefully flex and bend itself into
place against any wall, with only pressure keeping it upright.
The lamp, as a singular object, is compelling as a sculpture,
and an installation of more than one creates a ballet of arcs
of light.
